Once upon a time...

there was a little girl who dreamed of being a princess when she grew up. She loved playing dress up, singing "Beauty and the Beast," and dreaming of her prince charming. The end.

I was listening to a Disney Princess CD last night on Spotify and I got to thinking about how I really wanted to be princess. I wanted the whole package; the sparkly crown, the beautiful ball gown, a fairy godmother, live in a big castle, and marry my prince charming. And let's not forget the "happily ever after" part! I wanted to live the fairytale life.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized, I am of royal birth. Mind. Blown. I am a daughter of king. I don't know how I forgot that, but boy am I glad I remembered. I felt so special when I realized this. And just like all the princesses I've read about, I too am going through trials that will help me reach my "happily ever after."

"In each of these stories, Cinderella, Belle, and the miller’s daughter have to experience sadness and trial before they can reach their “happily ever after.” - President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

All my trials and tribulations will all be worth it in the end. Happy Tuesday everyone! And don't forget, you are of royal birth!

Happily Ever After
By: Jenny Phillips

Once upon a time
A child was born into this life
Heaven could be seen in her eyes
There was no doubt she was divine
And if you are still you will feel the truth
That the princess in this wondrous story is you

[Chorus:]
It’s your time
It’s your destiny to shine
So arise
Be true to the royal
That’s inside of you
Don’t settle for the story that
The world would have you write
You were born to reach eternal life
Let faith fill every chapter
Let the Savior lead you to
Happily ever after

Sometimes in your life
The world will cast a spell
And try to make your conscience fall asleep
And forget the woman God would have you be
But if you are still you will understand
The noble role you play in his plan

[Chorus]

[Bridge:]
When the forests fills with darkness
And wolves seek your soul
Just know
You are simply in the place between
Your once upon a time and your triumph in the end

[Chorus]

=) Wow. I may be male, but I loved reading this. The lyrics to that song never fail to lift my spirits. Thank you.
